Midsommar (2019)
DANCE / ARCHITECTURE
Performance
Duration: 20 minutes
Midsommar is a ritual dance performed at sunset during the summer solstice, set at a private residence designed by Frank Lloyd Wright apprentice Harold Turner in Bloomfield Hills, MI. The dance takes inspiration from the theatricality of the perspectives cast by the home, producing a desiring gaze, and its interaction with the pristine yet mysterious presence of the impending surrounding woods.
